Custom Orders
Your ship. Your name on it.
A name, registry number, unit badge or nose-art style motif that no kit sheet includes — made to your scale and your colour scheme.
Send the brief
Use the form below: the model, the scale, the exact words/numbers, and colours. A photo of the hull area helps.
Check the proof
You get a proof of the sheet layout to approve — spelling, size and colour — before anything is printed.

Approved sheets are printed as waterslide decals and posted protected flat, with spares of the smallest marks.
Apply & show it off
Follow the application guide, seal with your clear coat, then tag @red_phoenix_decals for a gallery feature.
Builder's Guide
Clean decals, every time
Four steps that prevent the three classic failures: silvering, tearing, and decals that vanish under weathering.
Gloss first
Decals sit on a gloss coat, not bare matte paint. Gloss kills the air pockets that cause silvering.
Soak, don't drown
Warm water, 20–30 seconds, then rest the decal on a damp paper towel until it slides freely.
Slide, don't drag
Slide the decal off the backing straight onto the hull. Position with a wet brush, blot from the centre out.
Set & seal
Setting solution softens the film into panel lines. When dry, seal with gloss, then your final matte coat.
Which scale, which sheet?
Large fighters & mechs. Room for full names, nose art and big insignia. Most forgiving scale for custom text.
Mid-size ships & kits. Registries and unit marks stay readable; keep custom names short.
Big starships. The sweet spot — full stencil sets, hull numbers and hazard marks all read clearly.
Compact starships. Bold shapes only: registries, stripes and insignia. Fine stencils become texture, by design.
Fleet scale. Tiny ships get name + number + one insignia. Sheets pack multiple ships per set.
Bench tips from hard lessons
- Cut close: trim carrier film tight to the artwork — less film, less silvering, cleaner edges.
- Test the spare: every sheet's spares exist so you can test setting solution strength first.
- Weather over, not under: washes and chipping go over sealed decals so markings wear with the hull.
- Photograph before the matte coat: gloss-stage photos show decal detail best for your build log.
- Store flat and dry: sheets live in their sleeve, out of sunlight, until bench day.
Good to know
Questions builders ask
Are these stickers or waterslide decals?
Waterslide. The printed film releases from its backing in water and settles onto the model with almost no thickness — no sticker edge, and it can soften into panel lines with setting solution. That's what makes fine-scale detail possible.
Can you make a decal of my favourite show's ship?
Red Phoenix sheets use original designs and generic genre motifs — registries, stencils, hazards, insignia — rather than copying franchise names, logos or artwork. Custom work covers your own ship names, numbers and original art, which also means your build stays one of a kind.
How do I actually buy?
Right here on this site: add listings to your order in the store, fill in your details on the Order page at checkout, and submit your order. We confirm the final total including postage, then you pay — PayPal is the main checkout, with Square (invoice by email), Cash App and Chime as backups. For a one-off custom sheet, use the custom order form to create a brief and send it by Instagram DM to @red_phoenix_decals.
What if I ruin a decal applying it?
Sheets include spares of the smallest, easiest-to-tear marks. Work over a gloss coat, soak don't drown, and slide rather than drag — the application guide walks through it, and the vlog episodes cover repairs.
Do you ship internationally?
Decal sheets are flat, light and post-friendly. Postage options to your country are confirmed with your order total, before payment.
